Happy New Year!

I love, love, LOVE the promise that a New Year can bring and hopefully for MimiLuxe that will mean a blog JAM packed with content, Youtube Vlogging and reviews and LOTS of loyal subscribers! MimiLuxe may be only little now, but everyone must start some where, so 2013 - let's be having you!

Simply Smoothies!
Yum yum!
The last few days hubby & I decided we would kickstart our healthy 2013 with some added vitamins and nutrients. Thankfully mom had gifted us with a hand blender so we didn't have to fork out for one, the only thing we needed to do was be brave and get rolling!
Both smoothies this week (I'm making number 3 this evening) had the following core ingredients, Bananas, Vanilla Yoghurt and.... Spinach! (Trust me on this one!)
For smoothie one I threw in a handful of frozen raspberries... Totally masking the spinach but turning the smoothie a ghastly brown colour, none the less it was delicious and I will definitely be doing it again!
Last nights smoothie I added apple instead of raspberries and a handful of coconut - pro: the coconut was super tasty con: I added too much apple so the smoothie was kind of 'bitter' to the taste!
You guys should definitely try this out, spinach is jam packed with Iron and the antioxidants and vitamin c in the fruit is so good for your skin. A healthy dose of banana helps keep you, er, 'regular'

Say Buh-Bye to Cold's
Every year without fail hubby & I succumb to pesky colds, sore throats and niggly coughs. Like most of our friends we work crazy hours and super long weeks so we get run down ridiculously easy.
This year I wanted to take matters into my own hands. On top of trying to carb load and jam pack our fridge with nutrient rich foods I wanted to supplement our diets with something to give us an added boost when we were on the run... Roll up our winter saviour the Beeline Effervescent Edlerflower Vitamin C + Zinc. I've added this to my morning routine, popping one tablet into a coffee flask, adding a splash of Ribena and hot water.. Yummers!
I can honestly hand on heart say, so far (since mid- September until now) there has been not one sneeze, runny nose or sore throat! Hurray!!! You get twenty tabs per tube at €4.95 each which in my book is totally worth it! It's citrus flavour so you can definitely drink it just with the hot water but I like to add Ribena for added sweetness, you could try Manuka Honey for an extra kick!

Frankie's Fashion Favs
Say hello to my little friend! Frankie!!
This little gem is our pride and joy and also my shoes biggest enemy.. Silly Frank likes to chew chew chew so... I needed some new flats.. Oh see how this will spiral into a full on shopping spree! Ooops!
Hubby & I bit the bullet and hit the sales, he made a dash to HMV and I made a beeline to Zara! Yeay!
While there I bought a gorgeous cranberry coloured knit for €26 (down from €40). It has a really cool bias cut and is going to be perfect with skinny jeans and my favourite boots all the way from Italy.
I also picked up a silk 3/4 length sleeve shirt in black with simple gold stud detailing on the shoulders for €30...
And finally, mission accomplished, new flats for Mr Frank to chew! These puppies (pardon the pun) set me back €39!
Eeesh! Frankie you're one expensive boy! Ha ha!

This for me has been a long time coming!
